    Hi all,

I have stripped the wallpaper, I used a steamer and it came off pretty easy. I dont think the walls are too bad, I've uploaded a couple of pics.

I want to paint the walls now, what do I need to do? Do I need an undercoat of some sort etc?

    Thanks

Make sure you have polyfilled any holes etc....then once happy and all sanded down, paint away, give a at least two coats, depending on how paint goes on and coverage.

water down first coat or use an acrylic primer

Fill any holes and let dry.
Sand down the holes and give the whole wall a light sanding to remove any bits left behind by the wall paper.
Also make sure any wallpaper glue has been washed away from the wall. Painting on top of this will leave a poor finish.

Once your happy that the walls are smooth and clean then give them a single coat of 50% cheap white emulsion 50% water. Mix it well.

Once the first coat has been applied then it will show up any other imperfections. Resolve these imperfections and then paint the rest as normal.
