    Hey there,
I'm Alessandro, a new Ph.D. student in MU just moved here from Italy.
As I've always enjoyed playing drums in a band I'm looking for a new one here.
I'll try to describe my experiences, my style, my tastes in the next few lines, hoping to give you an accurate description, but I have to warn you before you'll start reading: I live in Maynooth and I've no car. I'd like to start a band even in Dublin but, although It wouldn't be a problem for rehersals, maybe it would be so for gigs. Thus bear this in mind and, if you can propose any solution we can talk about it. Let's start with some information about me.

    My experiences:

I've been playing drums since I was 17 (so almost 10 years), took lessons, studied and practiced for, at least, half as long. I’ve always played in some band, more and more committed. In particular, my last band has been the more mature and productive one: In a couple of years we produced a complete housemade eight-track demo, wrote about 15 songs and gigged at least 20 times: small pubs, radio programs, great festivals and quite big stages, electric, semi-electric and completely acoustic set-ups (If you like to listen these stuff just PM me).

    My style:

My drumming style is based on grooving, timing and on using simple and effective patterns. I’m absolutely not the guy who plays as fast as light on the set, instead I prefer to pay attention to sounds, composition, groove and accuracy.
Furthermore occasionally I like to experiment using tambourine, mallets, brushes etc. I used to play a Cajon as well for acoustic set-ups.
The genres I like to play most (and I’m more confident with) are mainly branches of Rock: Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, Indie Rock, Pop Rock, Blues Rock, Hard Rock. Furthermore I’d really like to start playing some Prog Rock and Post Rock (as far as my skills allow me) and I’d like to experiment mixing Rock with other genres. I’m not looking for Metal bands, I like Metal but not too much, otherwise it would be absolutely fine to have some parts of some songs in that style, without going too much far from Rock.

    My music tastes and influences:

The kind of Music I like most is more or less the same as aforementioned in the previous section. Instead of writing down a boring list of artists I prefer link my Last.fm profile (last.fm/user/ZeroTheHero91), so you can guess my favourite artists, songs, genres.

    What I am looking for:

Music is always been my passion but, maybe unfortunately, I choose a different working path. I take music very seriously and, even I’m not a professionist, I always try to be as more professional as possible (this doesn’t mean I’m not easy going or flexible!). I’m looking for an original Rock Band to have fun, compose songs, gig and maybe record with. I’m neither a professionist nor a newbie so I’m looking something in the middle. The main characteristics my bandmates must have are: being easy-going (anyone of us would like to be too stressed for doing someone that’s supposed to be a form of entertainment for us), honest and serious: If music it’s just a “side project of our life” it doesn’t mean we have not to get goals, objectives and satisfactions.

I hope my description was enough clear and accurate.
    Let me know!
