Landcruiser but give the chassis a good look over for rust. Have a 00 with 300k on the clock and it hasn't given too much bother. Chassis getting rusty on a lot of them now so be careful. Had to get mine plates and two new legs made up for the cab mounts. Rear lights rot too and expensive enough to replace. Wiper linkage a few hundred to replace aswell and goes in them all so worth checking all those things thoroughly. The dual mass flywheels and independent suspension in the back of the pajeros is a disaster, the uncle had one for a good few years and it near broke him trying to keep it on the road until the engine blew in it

When you says parts are a rob....why is that?.....did Toyota not stockpile enough of them?.....or is there another reason?

And is it just the Landcruisers from back then that parts are very dear for?

I think it might be because there are no spurious parts available, only original toyota parts. Now I could be wrong, but that's usually the reason.

What mileage is on it? Mine is the same vintage, bushings will probably be your biggest problem, possibly might need brake calipers.

Ask the bil if the transfer box has been checked for oil leaks, that can be a problem. I wouldn't sell for 1300:D so if that's the asking price I'd say go for it.

Ah forgot about the calipers and transfer box, had all those problems too. Hasn't had an easy life though in fairness. A gear chipped in the transfer box in mine and it eat itself for want of a better explanation.

Bought a well minded 00 land cruiser swb for just under 4K I think about 4 years ago. Best thing I ever bought. Few small bits needed for the doe every year alright but overall think they're a great machine and pajero you're talking about no comparison.

LandCruisers of the vintage mentioned are generally considered to be the best of the lot.

Have a 02 here and it's the best thing ever purchased here. Keep it well serviced.

Safe driving....from what I’ve heard about that age of Landcruiser they are a great buy as long as you care for them.
