Looking to book a hotel break in the Limerick/Tipp/Cork area, but don't want a modern style city hotel would much prefer an old manor style country house or castle vibe.. :) Adare manor and Dromoland castle are out of our budget :( but if there's anywhere else that might suit? nice food/drink and country walks would be ideal, any ideas would be great!

I've heard that The Old Convent in Clogheen is quite nice; been thinking about a stay there myself one of these weekends. Lots of lovely walks nearby, as it's right by the Knockmealdowns and the Vee, and it's just down the road from Cahir if you wanted to see the castle there.

    Can recommend
The Falls and the Old ground in Co Clare
CastleOaks or Dunraven in Co Limerick

The Dunraven Arms in Adare is charming and very romantic in my opinion. I'd choose that over Adare Manor any time any time and I've stayed in both.

Very popular for weddings though at weekends

Doubt if you'll be staying in the Manor again anytime soon....;)
