    Has anyone tryed sweet complete milk replacer from bonanza what are your thoughts on it been using a a a golden maverick find it Good a bit pricey sweet complete cheaper

    There's a good article in the Journal on milk replacers and their prices if anyone is interested.

    Surprising lack of skim in the replacers considering it's the poor relation of milk products atm.

    That's a how-long-is-a-piece-of-string question:)

    A lot will depend on how much time lads have for the calves and once or twice a day as well.

    There is 1 study that shows a 14% live weight gain increase with calves fed skim/whey compared to whey based only pre weaning. I'll post the link when I get the chance. They recon its because of the 2 different proteins. Skim contains casein which Is a slow release protein.

    Seen the article in farmers journal but it didnt really say what was the best value or the best one just lookin for yer experiences on what ye found was good or what ye are using this year as there is alot to choose from ..... I would be changing to once a day feeding at 3-4 weeks ..

    Shine OAD. 350g in 2L TAD for 3 Weeks. 600g OAD afterwards and steadily being cut back.
