Hi lads, got some great help from this forum when I was building my daughters gaming PC last year, looking for some advice again for my sisters teenage kid, any help is appreciated.

1. What is your budget? €600
2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, light video editing (for utube)
3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No
4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No
5. Do you need a monitor? No
6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Wifi Card.
7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

Her kid is looking for a case with a window on the side and LED lights on the front and inside.
She already has bought a mouse and keyboard and has her eye on a monitor.

Thanks K.O.Kiki, should have mentioned that the keyboard and mouse are black, so I think they are also looking for a black case, any sugestions?

Don't see too much in ATX category, but the micro-ATX CiT F3 could work.
Just needs to also change the motherboard to mATX size.

This is a decent, low cost case - a bit of design on it but not obnoxious like a lot of low cost cases can be. I used it on a budget build and it's surprisingly spacious and compact from the cube shape, is well laid out for such a low cost unit, and while it got on fine without any for the one I did (G4560/1050 TI) there are four case fans brackets - https://www.novatech.co.uk/products/avp-hyperion-ev33b-cube-mini-tower-case/avp-ev33b.html .

Only thing is Novatech don't deliver to Ireland, so probably comes to €35 or so (£23 = €26/27 + €8 delivery for Parcel Motel, it's too big for their lockers but they'll do it to your home or work for that price)

I'd have to say I'd probably go for a Skylake / Kaby Lake Pentium or i3 over the budget Ryzens.

Similar multi-threaded performance at the end of the day and far superior gaming performance in most instances.

A Ryzen 1200 when overclocked is about identical to an i5 7400. The i3 has more or less been obsolete since February to be honest when the G4560 came out, and the G4560 as much as I like it (used it on two budget builds as gifts around €350-400 each) is no i5.

The g4560 doesn't make the i3 obsolete entirely as it's stronger in certain things due to the extra cache. But Ryzen does largely make i3/Pentium obsolete for a modern build, the 1200 is a much better all rounder though yes, in some things that are single threaded the i3 will still be superior. But that doesn't really make much sense in 2017 unless you'll only be playing one or two very specific games.

Overclocked Ryzen 1200 is easily better than i3 or Pentium with a far superior upgrade path.

I was going through the reviews for all the parts on PCPartPicker for this build and there seem to be a lot of negative reviews around the motherboards due to taking to long to boot or problems with regards to no display or needing new Bios updates due to memory issues related to the Ryzen.
With this in mind would I be better going for a Intel setup instead or has the problems above been resolved?

I'm quite sure it has been resolved - a lot of the issues were arising (not gonna bite on that pun!) because the need for 2666mhz RAM was not really made clear on launch, leading to people using 2133 or 2400mhz instead and coming into issues because of it. That said I'm on Intel so cannot say 100% for sure but since February almost every build on here (that has not been a really high spec, really expensive one) has been either a G4560 Intel build or Ryzen 1600 for midrange - with the G4560 being replaced effectively by the Ryzen 1200 over the last three-ish months.

I'd go with an Asrock mobo. They have knocking out superior mobos for about 5 years now.

I recently changed my cheap asrock board to a high end Asus board and the Asus board BIOS is so much slower at boot despite costing more than double that of the Asrock board.

Looking to order these parts soon, would anybody know which RAM I should go for? If the 2400 mhz RAM is working with this processor I will get that if not can anybody recomend 2 sticks of 4GB 2666mhz RAM for this build?
