M6 - J7a?

    Westbound after the J7 (between J7 and J8) there are closed ramps and signpost poles with no signage - is this a planned 7a exit? If so, what purpose will it serve - i.e. a MSA?

    Looking at maps in the general area it doesn't look like it is going to do much! Also, it seems closed for a while now.

    It's for a planned Motorway Service Area - operated by Topaz - should be open in the next year or so.

    It was held up because of a legal battle between Applegreen and Topaz.
