Hi I have a few yearling heifers that I want to put into ground that has not been grazed in years. A lot of rushes and heather but also a lot of grass. I will be moving them here in November. November historically isn't a red zone time for red water. I was just wondering if I give them the imizol injection (heifers won't be sold to factory until end of next year so no issue with the big withdrawal) and keep them topped up with bayticol would I be 100% covered? was planning on leaving them here all winter as there is plenty grass. looking for opinions. Thanks

Is it your own ground? If it's rented I'd ask the owner/previous renters if they had issues with ticks.
Very few ticks about at the moment, in colder years there'd be none but the mild weather is keeping them hanging on for the time being. Personally I'd put nothing on them (have just put cows & calves on 2 scrub hills that's only seen horses for 5 years) but if you are worried about ticks I'd just Bayticol them, if it was summer I'd def do the double protection but see no point now.
