District court claim notice (credit union)

Hi I received a district court claim notice today from a solicitor with regards to my credit union loan. I had a difficult year and ended up in arrears on my loan. The term of the loan is not up yet and I had and still have every intention of repaying the loan.

I rang the credit union a month back and told them I would start repaying the loan soon and asked for a direct debit form to be sent out which I never got. I went down last week and made a payment and got a form which I was going to hand in on Saturday but then received this by registered post today.

What happens now? Do I have to go to court now? Can I deal with the credit union directly or will I have to ring the solicitor?

Suggest you make an appointment with the CU person dealing with your account

Might I suggest that you enlist MABS asap to assist you in dealing/negotiating with the CU.

And don't overlook the court date while negotiation is going on.
