Anyone know the approx vrt on Tesla S.

I assume is 14% of OMSP then take off 5k.

But I see nothing on the Revenue website for OMSP.

    Thanks

    They are not listed.
I've had my eye on the tesla CPO site for the last while, every now and then an early (non-AP) model is listed in the mid 30's.

However the VRT is 14% of the OMSP, and then a 5k discount. The OMSP is likely to be 80-90k given revenue's unfair OMSPs
Using 80k as the figure, the vrt would be approx 6200 (11200-5000)

I'm surprised Tesla Ireland still hasn't submitted an OMSP to revenue.

@ELM327 - wow, mid 30s GBP CPO? That would nearly be worth the risk if you had the cojones to bring it in, present to VRT with purchase invoice. Pay up the VRT bill but fight it, maybe even with a letter from Tesla Ireland to help you?

    GBP35 = €40k + maybe €2k VRT (based on €50k OMSP)

I brought a car in from the UK myself two days ago. Flight €57, Ferry €68, petrol and expenses €40, total €155

Yes it was a couple of weeks ago and I posted a link here.
I'm really considering it myself within the next 12 months, as the prices are going to drop quite sharply soon. Especially when the m3 is closer to available, the non AP cars will become available regularly in mid 30k GBP. Currently the cheapest are hovering around 40-44k, which would make it 50k+ EUR including the VRT.

What did you bring in? Not changing the Ioniq are we?? :pac:

But the ad on the radio says importing a car is a disaster, and the man would never do it again!

Only we care for your *premium german saloon who shall remain nameless* , if you import from the UK you don't have a warranty.

Heard it on Newstalk yesterday. What a ridiculous attempt to scaremonger people.

A great example of Irish profiteering is the Outlander PHEV. They are for sale in the UK around the £13k mark for a 2014. €16k landed including costs and VRT. In the ROI they are listed nearer to €30k. Nearly a 100% increase for the same car. Why wouldn't someone import!

    Flight over.
    Ferry back.
    Lost the documents
    VRT more than I budgeted.

The guy really shouldn't be behind the wheel of any car!

If there is one group that want to see a hard Brexit and have UK outside of the customs union it’s the SIMI

When my diesel crewcab van is no longer insurable I'll be going straight to the UK (again) for an outlander phev for caravan towing duties. I just hope it's before this brexit rubbish kicks in!

Can't justify getting rid of the van just yet, it refuses to break down.

I THINK we've until March 19' before trade barriers go up

    Edit - extra costs added

I've sent you a PM. If you don't mind sharing some details on the process? Considering buying from the UK myself.

It's hard to persuade me to take a ferry again tbh, each time I've been on one members of the travelling community have caused hassle.

Getting a cabin is an option but up go your costs too
