Could be the final nail in the coffin for some 0-3 teams this week. Such a pity to wait all those months for the season to come around, for it to be, essentially, over after week 4. Also feel a bit sorry for the Dolphons and their schedule to open the season. between the hurricane cancellation and a couple of cross continent trips, followed by two transatlantic trips...tought sledding. Picked a lot of away winners again this week, which was my downfall in week 3.

Bears @ Packers; Could be closer than in years past.
Saints @ Dolphins; Hectic schedule catches up to Dolphins.
Panthers @ Patriots Talking of schedule, another favourable matchup sees no issues for the Patriots at home.
Titans @ Texans; Could have the makings of a great divisional game. Titans have too many weapons.
Rams @ Cowboys; I think the Rams are going to light up the Cowboys D.
Lions @ Vikings; Lions should be unbeaten, but who would've thought Keenum and Cook would turn Vikes into an offensive juggernaut!
Steelers @ Ravens; Both with something to prove, divisional game so should be tight, but something badly wrong with the Ravens.
Jaguars @ Jets; All aboard the Jags train. Bortles to secure 4th career away win.
Bengals @ Browns; Bengals to throw their season a lifeline with a close win.
Bills @ Falcons; Falcons were lucky last week to escape Lions, but should see off Buffalo more easily.
Giants @ Bucanneers; Giants Oline is a mess, and Tampa defense will torment them.
49ers @ Cardinals; Cards to bounce back after dissappointing loss to Dallas.
Eagles @ Chargers; I honestly think San Diego would have a better chance were this game not at "home".
Raiders @ Broncos ; Big game after week 3 letdowns. Would like to think Denver can emulate Washington's performance on Monday.
Colts @ Seahawks; A chance for the Seahawks to regroup with an easy win after week 3 drubbing.
Redskins @ Chiefs ; Great chance for the Redskins to make a stattement with a win, but damn if the Chiefs don't look good.

Massive massive game for the Titans, we can go 3-1 and put some distance between ourselves and the rest of the AFC South.

Ah the bears and packers. As a neutral and a person who loves the history of the NFL, this game is the one to watch. I hope the game tonight builds on last weeks game and we have a very good game. This rivalry deserves good games.

The packers and Bears have played 194 times since 1921 and are tied at 94-94-6. I'm a very happy Eagles fan since 1999 but the two teams I'd love to be a fan of would be the packers and Bears because the history of both franchises. I've read books on Lombardi and watched documentaries on the Bears and George Halas.

There are 22 NFL Championships combined and 7 Super Bowl championships between the two teams. And taking all the points scored in all the games there is only a difference of four between them. The Packers have 3,335 and the Bears have 3,331.

As a Bears fan I'm always childishly excited about this fixture, even though we have not lived up to out side of the bargain in the rivalry lately, and the tied historical record has been hugely down to how one-sided it's been in the Rodgers era.

My only problem is that it's a Thursday game, which tends not to be great, and both teams are completely banged up. On the plus side that makes things a little harder to predict. It's difficult to look past the Packers of course, but we were a dropped pass away from beating the Falcons in Week 1 and got a great win against the Steelers on Sunday. Two championship game teams there, and we've been toe to toe with them despite having the ginger statue at QB. Hope we can make sure the most-played rivalry in the NFL at least lives up to its reputation.

It was so very different back in the 80s, here are pretty much the only Packers highlights from the decade. But what highlights!

In the first, the bespectacled kicker might look a bit bemused...he later admitted he had taken cocaine at half time. He had huge drug issues later in life, tried to commit suicide. The second is the legendary "instant replay" game that Ditka refused to acknowledge as a Packers win afterwards.

And in the same spirit as above, here's a rare but very sweet victory for the Bears in recent history, when they spoiled Brett Favre's big day.

The game is over if Glennon is QB. He's even worse than I thought and now we will have to play Trubisky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Shambles. Glennon has negative yards. Let alone first downs, we're lucky to have gotten to a fourth down without coughing it up. Defense seem to be getting their act together but as long as Glennon is pricking about back there we will remain a laughing stock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Great. And I can't go to bed in case Trubisky comes in.

You know Glennon would act as an ideal lightning rod.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,457 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Right I've had enough of the commentary, bring back Phil Simms. I can't listen to Tony Romo anymore, voice is annoying and he is a pathetic analyst.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Jesus ****ing Christ if trubisky isn't in on our next drive I'm turning this off and not watching the bears again until John Fox has been fired. How much more of this bum do they needed to see???

Trevathan you stupid gowl. Tackle was made, no need for that filth at all, all it did was turn a field goal into a touchdown and give someone a concussion.

Hopefully just a concussion looked very nasty

Yeah, he did give a thumbs up on the way off the field but trevathan has no business being on the field himself after that. If they're serious about head injuries I don't see why that shouldn't be an ejection. I say that as a bears fan.

Yeah I've seen enough of him now. Him and several others. Also I've come round to the idea that they can leave Glennon on, I don't want Fox involved with trubiskys bear career.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Jesus Christ, that might be the actual worst interception I've ever seen. Can we at least get butt fumble in?

He was a good hire at the time to inject a bit of respect and order back into the locker room after the Trest/Emery cluster*uck but as a HC he is so past it. We kept him a season too long.

Yeah, I agree, currently one season and three games too long though. If this catastrophe results in some serious changes I'll love with it, but if it's business as usual next week I can't see how we've progressed at all. Wasn't getting humiliated by the pack one of the reasons trest was fired?

Cover Jordy Nelson? Why on Earth would we do something like that?

Time for bed. Running the ball down 4 scores.

    F*ck off.

Bears should throw 2 footballs at Tarik Cohen more often...that's a neat trick!

If it was Glennon throwing them they'd both be intercepted.

Making a clearly injured Jordan Howard run the ball for no reason, no less. It's disgraceful.

Ffs they didn't even try an inside kick? That is classic Fox, they basically tell the opposition they're throwing in the towel, but they still make their star players busy they're bollocks and risk their health on drives for touchdowns that mean nothing to anyone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,644 ✭✭✭D9Male

That was woeful. Chicago looked bad, Green Bay did just about enough.

Knex thanks for the link. That is a disgusting hit. Trevathan should be fined and suspended. What kind of POS was that ? He can't say he meant to tackle him and the player ducked.

Woke up for second half and, as was in bed, had to watch it with the sound down to avoid waking my wife. Kinda weird to watch a game in silence...I blame the Bears, if it was a thriller, would have gone downstairs.

I'll give Trevathan the benefit of the doubt. He has no history of dirty play and was apologetic and explained himself quite well after the game.

Not at all, no interest in them. It's easy spot the habitual dirty players in the league. I just don't think he's one of them.
