Any wedding venues that were particularly stunning ?! I was at a wedding in Gloster house, Co Offaly a few months back, probably the nicest place I've been to wedding wise. The Orangery in Kilruddery House was beautiful also.

Kilshane house was the most beautiful we visited, but also by far the most expensive... It was a stunning venue though!

I've heard that's beautiful alright but with a chunky price tag!

Depends on what you mean by beautiful or stunning though. I mean I'd say you mean the big country house type of venue, but I'm not a big fan. I prefer city centre venues, something a bit more structured and modern.

To me the most beautiful venue would have amazing gardens and views!

    I guess it's really subjective.

Very true. Some of the city centre ones are fab and great fun and some of the country houses can be stuffy and overly formal. A lot comes down to the people who are there and the vibe of the day. I suppose the question was more thoughts on venues that stood out as visually stunning.

The Armada in Clare is probably the most stunning ballroom I've ever been in, the views from the floor to ceiling windows are amazing!

There's quite a chunky price tag on Gloster House as well! I priced both and I think I remember that Gloster was much more than Kilshane!

Must be pretty hefty in that case. I think the priciest I've come across was Ballyfin in Co. Laois. My friend enquired about it but it was crazy expensive. It does look beautiful though.

There was an international Girl Guides camp in Ballyfin about 20 years ago (god I feel old) and I have great memories of running up and down the inside of giant fountains outside. Amazing place. Also met Ray Darcy :D

Barnabrow in Cork is a fantastic converted farm style venue. Lovely manor house with renovated farm houses/barns to hold the reception/meal/dancing.

Segrave Barns in Louth is another great convert farm style venue, similar to Barnabrow with manor house alongside converted barns/sheds.

I was recently in Raheen House in Clonmel. That fairly blew me away. Stunning manor house with beautiful walled gardens.

Tinakilly House in Wicklow is gorgeous

Mount Druid, I loved but very much a niche market. My guests wouldn't have liked glamping!
Raheen House recently put up for sale.

I may be biased, but I would add Ballintubbert House to the list.

Here's a few pics from our wedding a week ago

Have a look at Ashley Park house. As the old house, marquee, lake side, little jetty, and a walled garden.
Have to 2nd the armada, it's only a potty the outside doesn't look as lovely

Was recently at a wedding at Barnabrow House. Food was good but accommodation was awful. Our roomwas very small and the bathroom had grotty black tiles, a very old shower, no bath, no TV, thick dust and old beer bottle tops under the bed. Clearly the room hasn't been properly hoovered in months. The water pressure in the shower was very changeable so you had to keep it luke warm lest it scolded you. They also had reed diffusers in the rooms that were clearly very old as they were as dry as a bone.

Add to this the restaurant was freezing so had to keep coats on during our meal. There was a small fire in an adjoining room so half the party huddled in there during the band. The rooms are not that big either, so there is no excuse for being so cold other than the owner is very tight

Breakfast is only served between 9 to 10am.

Oh, and there is no bar on the premises so bring your own drink or you will have to get taxis into town. There was s bar during the wedding, but the night before was a disaster trying to organise taxis.

I would definitely say steer well clear of this place if you want your guests to feel comfortable. It is most definitely not worth the price we paid.
