Wedding spending effect AIP chances?

I know banks look at spending when giving approval in principal. Over the past 3 months we have spent €3500 on deposits. However we have also saved a lot over this period meaning our average savings during this period is the same as the previous 3 months.

We have meeting with the bank on Monday - how do we play the wedding situation? Be fully open? Say nothing? Hide the ring?

The outgoings will be visible and expect questions (legitimately so) on how you intend to fund the rest of the wedding.

If you have maintained savings and the savings amount is above a stress-tested mortgage payment it may not matter. If you've had to reduce below that, you or will have to at some point to pay the full amount - you may need to wait until after the wedding.

No it don't but they will question it. My husband bought a car in cash last year and they questioned the €15k withdrawal but ultimately it didn't impact on getting our AIP.
