Hi we have 7 year fixed with ub around 4.7%. 3 years in. Hoping to break out and go to the 10 year fixed with kbc 2.99% therefore reducing our mortgage by 5 odd years. We had issues drawing original mortgage and felt ill-advised re 7 year fixed rate as we had a doer upper- ltv changed drastically from 90% -60% over a 6 month period . We brought a case to the ombudsman who ruled in our favour , were compensated a small amount of money However we were not allowed to break our fixed rate without paying penalty's. Can anyone advise us of our options? Many thanks
