Surely this doesn't effect only the elderly?

Increases will apply to consumer and business voice customers, standalone broadband users and those with broadband bundles.

    So, nearly everyone then ?

The argument is the elderly don't shop around. That's on them.

Got this letter too last week been EIR customer since mid 80's, increase of €5 which will be €57 for broadband only a month..I rang them expecting a 'why do you want to cancel' or 'we don't want to lose a customer' but no I got 'ok you want to cancel, that's fine, will be cancelled in 30 days, send back router etc' they must be flat out with new customers as they don't want to hang onto their loyal ones.... Any recommendations on other BB providers, I've been doing research with '3'

Loyalty means nothing, a common misconception.
