I was supposed to receive a package today from amazon. When I looked at the tracking details it says it was delivered at 9.22, then at 9.27, then the item was back in depot and after that it says again it was delivered at 18.00.

I know for a fact that nobody even tried to deliver the package as there was someone at home expecting the postman. Nobody even left an attempted delivery notice.

When I went to the post office I was told that it's a new thing by amazon where they pay the post to attempt delivery 3 times before I can collect it myself.

Has anyone heard about it ?

    Here is the track log:

Yes, for certain customers (Amazon), AP will now attempt at the normal time which is usually before noon for most people and then again at six or seven.

From your description he's A, hitting the wrong button for delivery attempt and B) falsifying the attempt if he's never been on the property. Normal for cheap couriers to do that, less common from An Post.
