New Boiler

    Hi All,
My Baxi boiler is not sparking up. Turned it on for the first time over the weekend. The LED lights are on but the pilot won't stay on. Initially it fired up but then cut out after a few seconds. Tried it a few times but now it won't even fire up at all. I can hear the boiler start up but its not burning.

We had the fan replaced last March but now i think it could be on its last legs. We live in a terrace house. Built in 90s. I'd say its the original boiler.
Timed immersion heats the hot water for the bath and sink upstairs so thats ok.

I'm looking for any advice about getting a new boiler in. Maybe a new system? Also thinking about getting a bigger cylinder tank upstairs. We got a new power shower in last year and it empties pretty quickly (at the moment we have a standard cylinder).

    So questions are:
    1. recommendations for a new boiler
    2. is the combi boiler an option?

Prices and general recommendations are all welcome!

    Thanks

I assume it's a back solo that you have and probably could need a good service to get you going. But your also right it's not the most efficient boiler and if it's from the 90s it would be in it's final furlong at this stage.

Combi boiler are excellent with the right set up consistent hot water but every house is different.

What part of the country are you in and maybe some one can pm you.

    Thanks Roy,
There's a guy coming out today to take a look, he serviced it in March and replaced the fan.
Guess I'm just looking for info for a heads up.

Problem solved. The cold water valve was jammed shut!

But now the downstairs rads are hot, the towel rail in the Upstairs bathroom is hot but all the other 4 rads upstairs are cold!! I'm thinking its another valve somewhere closed off. Probably from the upstairs cylinder?

We got a new upstairs bathroom put in earlier this year, and pump for the shower. So I'm thinking this has messed up the system a little.
