I have a 12x6 nugent cattle trailer ... my question is .... are there different tyres on trailer if you pull with tractor or 4x4 .

Issue I having is when it is behind van it is slightly lying forward... which tells me that it has tractor tyres on it ... my Dad bought it around 06 but doesn't know .. he just got biggest tyres ... easiest to pull behind tractor ... but I do all the pulling now and it is behind a 4motion transporter.

Can anyone enlighten me please .

Had same issue with an ivor Williams trailer on jeep she would go into a fish tail at 40/50 mph when empty. So went to a dealer and measured the hight of trailer ball hitch of ground they came in different heights, was told the drawbar can be changed to give the trailer a different hight for the hitch.

Doesn't matter what is behind a transporter. They always tend to dip the trailer forward you can raise the hitch but chances are if it's a 4 motion you will have barn doors at the back and you won't be able to open at least one of them.if it's a lwb it's going to drop more once the trailer is on. What you have to ask yourself is it worth changing the wheels, or are you better off change the trailer. I had the same issue for years and tried a variety of things including getting a real heavy spring for the back of the van and tried a few of the mates trailers and found your probably fighting a loosing battle. They are a serious van to tow and just a pity they aren't a shade higher at the back.

Same thing happened me last year. Changed the jeep and never raised the ball on the new jeep. The trailer was almost lifting the back of the jeep. Had a f, ing massive moment doing 60kph. Raised the ball up and now trailer pushes jeep downwards so more traction.
