It's a very early model, price is high enough if it needs repair.

If you could get the price down a bit it could be a nice little project. Nice simple tractor.

So the engine is goosed so to speak and he's still looking for a hefty price.

Yes. Price is too high but one of the simplest engines to work on.

Worst case these engines can be got new complete.

Is there anything on these to watch out for apart from the basics....clutch, brakes, steering, hydraulics etc.....

Would there be any advantage to a slightly larger model with 4 cylinders.?

something doesnt add up. Ad claims it only has 4600 Hrs. Engine shouldnt be in trouble with those little hours up on it.

Would that tractor handle a big nag of fertilizer and a handy spinner?

Thats good to know. Probably been "corrected" by previous seller.

It's had the head off and on again recently, guy reckons they discovered afterwards that it's throwing up oil at the stick.

I'd imagine it should lift a tonne in close.

Its a 135 with a fancy cab! not a hope of it being heavy enough for heavy fusion bales. Maybe bales of haylage from a claas 46.

The tractor is quite simple, its basically a 135 with disk brakes, a turbo and probably has a 12 speed gearbox. There is nothing particular to look out for except the usual.

Do brakes work? and are they pulling evenly?
Steering is there any play? and does power steering work when tractor is at low revs?
Check for oil leaking into turbo, and any wobble in the turbo turbine and turning freely.
And as always check the lift/pto work as expected.

To be fair there are a lot of advantages to a larger 4 cylinder model.
I notice the 360 has no remote spool valves, which probably means no independent hydraulics and no iPTO. Officially these things are not standard on the 4 cylinder models either but I've only ever seen one without and it was an import.

A 365 for example is only a few HP more than the 360 but is physically bigger/heavier and well capable of lifting round bales.

There are early Model 300 series 4 cylinders available from time to time for very similar money or a little more. They will all have the black and red cab and most likely the 3 sticks on the floor 12 speed gearbox.

Can you ever trust the clock on a nearly 30 year old tractor? Clocks on these are electronic and any time the alternators start giving bother the clock stops counting.

On engine bother, most of the 3 cylinders with engine issues are due to lack of "work", basically being used for jobs pottering around with engine barely getting above idle.

I wouldn't fancy it with a tonne on the back.

Price is too high for engine problems. Especially guy takes head off... looks at engine.... and then decides time to sell!

Could be worth pricing this one from a dealer to give idea of value.

(Bearing in mind tractor is mint with 4wd and loader)
