Post split away from a very old thread.

You should find one in most pet shops. I see them all the time. I use one on my double coated dog and it's fantastic. Of course it's not magic, she still sheds hair.

If it's sticking to your furniture, clothes etc put on a pair of standard rubber gloves you'd use for washing the dishes and run your hand over the hairy areas. The hair will come off in a wonderfully thorough and satisfying way! And you can just scoop up or Hoover up the piles you'll gather. It's really fast and easy. Works better than hoovering, lint rollers or tape etc.

As for asking him not to bring the dog... Be careful.. I'd choose my dog over most humans any day and I know I'm not alone in that!

Maybe you could ask to only have the dog in certain rooms though or ask not to have him on furniture or whatever. It's ok to have some boundaries, it's your home.

Not dumping his dog out in the garden - he sounds like a pig OP break up with him! :p
I use a double rake and find it great -

This is normal. My dog is never outside without us being outside too.
