All the College services that used to run in Dublin seem to have called it a day - driving past Griffith College the other day and noticed the mast has been taken down.

Good point, that reminded me it's been some time since I've heard IT Tallaght FM.

I just learnt from another thread that Easy Radio has secured a fifteen week license.

Here is an extract from their own website:

After a lot of behind the scenes work over the last few months, Easy Radio Is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a temporary broadcast license by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. Easy Radio will commence broadcasting on Saturday April 3rd for 15 weekends on 88.1 FM to the greater Dublin Area. Over the coming week we will be introducing you to our team of presenters who will entertain you throughout our license run.

    More details to follow.

What's the idea of issuing temporary or part-time licenses? Why not make them full-time or else ban them?

Do the established regional radio stations object to these community stations, afterall they are going after the same - shrinking - market?
