Barrel hoops or strips galvanised steel

    Would anyone know where I could get some old wine barrel hoops or 2mm thick x 450mm wide, lengths of galvanised steel or indeed any metal of equivalent size?

    I'm not worried about it being rusty or scratched up. I'm going to clean it up and spray it black anyway.

    Something like this is what I am looking for.

    Just get any competent engineers to roll you some.
    Its not hard to do if you have a machine.

    Thanks but am not even bothered if it is rolled or not, I just need to find somewhere I can buy it in Dublin?

    You think I logged on here to ask for advice but am somehow incapable of using Google?

    I am looking for something very specific and I am looking for someone who maybe knows someone who may have barrel hoops or something that would suffice, such as steel banding/strapping or someone to advise me of a supplier who would cut and supply a small quantity of galvanised steel cheaply.

    I have no experience of buying steel. Whether it comes in big sheets, etc and my multiple Google searches before coming on here yielded nothing.

    'Ask an engineer' Like I should know one and a google search of steel suppliers.

    Finding old wine barrel hoops will be a lot harder than contacting a steel suppliers like I have listed and asking them to cut you some steel strip to the dimensions you require.
    Here is one of the ones listed in Dublin, and their stock shows that they have 1.6, 2 and 2.5mm sheets in stock.
    They will also have machinery that can cut the aforementioned sheets as the testimonial on their page mentions:

    My suggestion: work out exactly what you want, ring them and ask them can they supply what you want.
    I bet they would have the steel cut to size and ready for collection before you find a load of winebarrel hoops.
