Redundancy Query

    My friend was recently made redundant. She worked at this company for 6 years, and they offered her twice the legal requirement in a payout.

    She is worrying however, as they have asked her to attend an independent solicitor and for the solicitor to provide a letter to HR in her ex company to say that she accepts the redundancy, but she will not see this letter.

    Is this normal practice? Thanks in advance for any help.

    No. She has not signed a letter. She attended a solicitor, she spoke to the solicitor. The solicitor is sending a letter to her HR department and she has not seen it.
