    I'm currently living in Ireland - I dislocated my finger and i think it needs medical attention just wondered what the most cost effective way of doing this is. Do i just go straight to a hospital to cut out the need for going to a GP who will just charge me and tell me to go to hospital or how does all that work?

    If it's only a dislocated finger I'd youtube it tbh/get a nurse friend to straighten it

    Cost= free/cheap bottle wine

    Go to GP and pay €50 ish to get a letter to go to your closest Emergency Room , you wont be charged the €100 (or whatever) if you have a letter from a GP , that in the northwest anyway.

    Don't do your own reduction on your finger. It might never be right again. Or has it gone back in already and you just want it checked for damage?

    There's small injuries clinics in hospitals, you could go there, avoid the GP and Casualty Department.

    I pulled it back into to place when it happened about 2 weeks ago but its still a funny shape - thanks for the info all I think i'll try the small injuries route

    Yes, it's hard to just leave it like that for however long until you get medical attention.
    Hope you get it sorted out :)

    2 guys I know were surfing at Rossnowlagh and one of them dislocated his shoulder when the board hit him. He went to A & E (Im not going to say where) and 2 doctors popped it back in for him after following instructions on a youtube video.
