The dole office in Dublin finglas won't give me my dole I haven't worked in over 4 weeks and living from hand to mouth. I gave them all the ID and Information they needed and they where happy. My mother and father are from Manchester And they have 2 houses there home is in Manchester and they have a house in Dublin and thats a holiday home for when they come back for a few weeks of the summer there going home in the next week. Now my father is in a wheelchair and Is on disability and my mother is the career all there benefits come from the UK and the dole office is asking for that and my father is refusing to give any info cos they don't need it. Now when my father goes I'll still be here cos I'm living in Dublin for the past 10 months. Is it right what they ate doing to me

Probably a question more for the state benefits forum tbh.

It sounds like the dole office believe that you're living with your parents in Dublin, that's why they're asking for details of your parents' income. And they're right to refuse your application for the dole until they know what the household income is.

You will need to go back to them and let them know that you're living alone.

Are you living in the "holiday home"?

If so, get the bills in your name and a letter from your parents saying you're the sole occupant and the terms of your lease.

If your father is living in Dublin with you and you're under 25 you'll just have to play by the rules, i.e. if you want benefits, your father will need to declare his income and means.

    Moved to State Benefits.

The State Benefits charter now applies.

The onus is on you to prove you are living in Dublin & that Dublin is now your centre of interest.

You can do this by working in Dublin and paying bills in Dublin. But by your own admission, you're living in a holiday home- owned by your father who is currently living in it while on holiday in Dublin.

I'm sure you can see why the dole office have a problem with your claim.

So effectively what you're saying here is that your father is blocking your access to the dole. It's that simple!

Because, if you want to get the dole, then you need to give the dole office whatever information it requires in order to make a decision in your case.

Their game, their ball, their rules.
