Looking at doing a few building jobs over the winter.

Was pricing a shed with a company lately. E3500 incl vat. Same shed 3 weeks later e4300 incl vat. No way has steel done up.

Are they trying to pull a fast one

Surly not but if u add 21% to 3500 it comes to 4300 roughly , would u have picked them up wrong first time ?

It's more down to the time of year, from September on is an exceptional busy time for farm buildings. Lads are busy, so suppliers aren't pushed about a sale and increase their margin. But materials are creeping up in the past I have received notification from suppliers of mainly roofing materials that after a certain date a price rise of 10% will take effect.

No both prices were incl vat

Went to look at item today. Substantial enough amount of money. Price was discussed on phone. Up there he said no that's plus vat. I said bullsh1t you said that's the price you need to get in your bank you told me. Northern bol1x. Hate that about the northern sellers to be honest and I had him tied down on price.
More than likely he will lose his sale over it based on principle alone
