I have a builder coming to block chimney, put up a lintel and create doorway on a old stone house, he will also create a similar doorway on a non load bearing wall.
Wondering how long this will take? as he will be paid per day.
    Something like below

Before you deal with the builder ask him to give you a "guestimate". Any builder should be able to judge the time it might take within a 2 day window

I suppose the other question should be, should i be blocking up chimney of a 100 year old tone house and taking part of it down in the 1st place, am I asking for trouble or is this fairly standard ?
