    Hi all,

Has anyone successfully flown with cats in the cabin from USA to Ireland, and if so, could you detail which airline you used, and how you did it, including any issues encountered?

We're planning on flying from LAX to Dublin using Ethiopian Airlines, and they have told us that it's it's possible, but according to a representative of the Department of Agriculture, only pets carried in the cargo hold will be accepted for inspection.

This is awfully confusing, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Can't be done, as far as I'm aware.

Have recently brought a cat and 2 dogs from Oregon. EU law will absolutely not allow this.
They must be in an approved carrier box in the hold. [If the seal on the box is broken then will not meet quarantine regulations. You need to talk to Dept of Agriculture in Ireland about approved airlines. We ended up having to use Lufthansa via Frankfurt. Find a USDA approved vet for advice. Also if you are LA based Pet Express are used to moving animals to Ireland and we also used them from New Zealand.

Thanks for the reply. What was your experience with Pet Express? What level of service did you get? We got a quote from them, which excludes a few options, so I'm interested in what choices other customers made.

    Thanks.

I used Pet Express for a USA to Ireland move a few years back. Two cats, and one dog. Good service. Also very helpful for advice in general.
