power cleaner in a built up area

Is there any law against people cleaning gutter fascias and soffits etc with a power cleaner in a built up semi D area when the over spray is sticking to the windows next door. It is water and possibly some has dirt from the gutter. It leaves little droplets that dry in have to be cleaned off. How they expect to aim at gutters without drowning next door is beyond me. Seemed like travelling cowboys to me

Personally, I don't think that it is unreasonable to have to clean your windows as a result of your neighbours having renovation work done - unless it was happening every day.

Have you asked your neighbours to clean your windows for you.

A law against someone cleaning gutters ffs give me strength. Did you not approach the person at the time.

If the gutters are full to the top and the power wash them there will be big chunks of crap flying everywhere. then they should clean that up or not create it in the first place. you could make them clean that up

if it is the spray from the washer then probably not. that is to be expected

it was the spray from the washer and some dirt so the water was dirty and stuck to windows. wasn't my house by the way. I would have thought that under sogsos they should make sure they have the skills to do so without harmin anyone else.

And how exactly is a bit of drifting spray on a window "harming" anyone???

Jesus Christ, that's some level of preciousness.

stay out of it if you can only make smart remarks i said it was dirt and water. This is a legal discussion and the question is just hypothetical anyway. i am curious about sogsos

In fairness a Power Washer usually throws dirt all over the place. They must be fairly clean gutters if it didn't.

Fairness is not done here. this is aplace where people do not understand the rules that this is a legal discussion. It is said a fool laughs at what he cannot understand

...the term "In Fairness" does not mean fairness....

I would suggest your focus is on Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act you'd need to expand why. Most people would assume nuisance or environmental route would be more logical.
But it would depend if you are the person paying for the service, or the neighbour, or indeed the supplier of the service, or a competitor of the service. Without context you'll get responses also out of context.

It can do but that's a stretch from running to the courts with it. It's no wonder our country is the way it is if it would even enter someones head that's there's a law against power washing.
No need for laws in an instance like this a chat with the person doing the power washing would solve it. Unless of course you're a solicitor. They're the ones that benefit from silly cases.
