Thank you :( Im honestly heartbroken.. he's been to the vet numerous times over the past 6 months.. bloods 6 weeks ago - all clear and now this... thought he had kennel cough 4 weeks ago.. got anti biotics -he improved.

Then coughing a little again started 2 weeks ago.. now this.. I'm at a loss for words..

He has hip dysplasia, heart murmur.. and now this (please god she is wrong) my poor poor baby :(

Fingers crossed its just a stubborn cough.
Oliver had a lump growing on his eyelid and first vet mentioned cancer, it was awful, it got me worrying about little things with all the animals. Thankfully the other vet that saw him for his cruciate op said it was just a cyst, and removed it while he was having his op. (he thought it might start to irritate the eye)
It was scary, my heart goes out to you, hope Cody is OK.

No experience of this but just to say it's really important to keep positive, I know you always fear the worst but try not to go there unless you have to.
Can they not go ahead and remove his tonsils now?

Thanks a million for your reply ...

Waiting for the results of 2 biopics one will come back on Tuesday and one by the end of the week. If the first one comes back positive or inconclusive it's straight to UCD for further tests.

Apparently both his tonsils are enlarged but the left one is being pushed out by a soomething underneath ... his lymph nodes are now also enlarged.. had him in the vet last Tuesday and they weren't enlarged...:(

Only reason this was discovered we pushed and pushed for X-rays and scope... he was in for full tests 6 weeks ago - full bloods - nothing showed!

I had him in 4 weeks ago suppected KC, then had him in 2 weeks ago coughing again.. now this :(

Apparently IF it is what the vet thinks it might be .. they can't do anything , removal would mean 2/3 months recovery as they would have to removed both tonsils and lymph nodes , tube feeding etc and it more than likely will come back - 4-6 months life expectancy etc :(

Only good thing is in 75% of cases when discovered it has already spread to bones, lungs or liver - no infication of this for Cody just yet..

I'm hoping a praying she's wrong and it's an infection

:( please please god she is wrong :(

your so so good thanks XX dreading it.. waiting for the call.

please please god the results are negative :(

Good luck!! Try not to worry too much :( Bailey's jaw thing had 3 rounds of results - preliminary and 2 more I forget the name off and it went - not cancer -> probably cancer -> not cancer... So if the results aren't great make sure they're the final ones. Even at that my vet didn't agree with the lab the it was ok to leave it and got 2 more opinions who agreed with her!

I haven't stopped thinking about him since you posted! :(

Guys, your all so good... thanks so much X

The results of the aspiration of the lump pushing out his tonsil out are due back today (vet said more than likely they would come back inconclusive ☹).. if that is the case he going straight to USD for further tests that she can’t do herself. The second results is due back by the end of the end that’s the biopsy of the tonsil ….

God I’ve never asked for anything in my life.. but please don’t let it be bad news.. its my job to mind him and I feel so helpless.

Cocker keeping everything crossed for Cody. I can't imagine how worrying it is when you are waiting for the news.

That's what they did with Bailey - so kept over night and we collected him the following evening and his tummy shaved etc etc . Bailey won't settle at all after he's been in for anything like that - almost like he's fighting the sedation so I keep him on lead at his bed and sit with him until he eventually relaxes.

If Cody's taken for tests just be prepared for him to be a bit wobbly/unsettled when you take him home. My mum got upset last time as Bailey was falling over and drooling with blood in it etc etc Have somebody drive and you sit with him on the way home. Actually have somebody drive you there too because you'll probably fall to pieces when you hand him over and leave without him! :(

That feeling of helplessness is very difficult to avoid. Regarding it being your job to mind him, I know well what you mean by that but what's best for him is mist important here. I remember being in this position but we knew it wasn't going to be good news and it wasn't. I remember the vet assuring us that we done everything we could for him and not to feel otherwise.

There is nothing worse than waiting on test results, and the fact that you now have to wait longer still is tortuous in the extreme:(. I'd be down at the vets trying to get them to ring the lab.s

    Hi guys

The vet just called his tonsil is clear!!!!!!!!

He has a vey bad infection due to a foreign object .. but no cancer cells!!

Sweet Jesus the relief! Which means his lymph nodes are clear also.

She said while it is good news However the lump was her main concern so Thursday is D-day where it still could be bad news.. as this shouldn't be there at all... it could be another infection but it also could be a cancerous tumour. So we will have to wait and see for definite.

But I'm going take the good for now!!!!

It was a 75% chance it was bad news ...we are now down to do 50% / 50% .

Thank you all so so much for all ur kind wishes ... and thoughts x x

Would u mind if I asked you to keep sending Cody good wishes until Thursday ?? It's really helped so far xxx

Thank you all ... I'm finding hard to stop smiling .. although I know he's not out of the woods yet... he's half way there.
Please god he will be ok xx and live to tell the tale.

I on the one hand have lost years off my life.

Fingers crossed the 'lump' is clear on Thursday xx

Thank you all it means a lot!

What food you feeding him? Have you tried plaque off? Or canident? It's a stuff you get and sprinkle on their food - it helps!

    Thanks all really appreciate it

thats a pain in the ass cocker 5 , IF I ever get another dog again and have to have tests done I will go to a vets with in house labs (I only found out recently there are two vets in Cork with this facility)

, it would be more expensive but I could not go through that kind of waiting ,
I don't know how you are managing to hold it together ,
really hoping for the best for you and Cody

Thanks a million - I'm honestly cracking up.. it's driving me demented.. I wouldn't mind but the costs for Cody last Friday were €870 and €250 of that was for the external labs etc.. she does do in house bloods , and basic lab stuff but not at this level.

It's just you know in my mind the first test due back was supposed to be the lump.. then that changed.. it was actually the tonsil and now the lump results were due back today and now that's moved .. I just need to know what / if anything were dealing with if that makes sense..

    Grrrrrrr :(

Although I have to say his little gorgeous face is in good form, no issues eating or breathing at the mo etc.. which I am happy about - long may it last.

Hopefully we will get an answer tomorrow ...

    Thanks guys x
