Nowhere as the cloud cover is supposed to be too much.

I'm travelling by Shanks' mare, so going to wander to Mutton Island, weather-permitting, and hope for the best.

Ah you never know. It was supposed to rain all morning and we've only had one shower. I'd imagine you'd want to have a northerly view looking away from the city's light pollution.

In terms of restaurants, Scotty's does the best steamed hams in Galway - though they are clearly grilled.

Got the steamed ham in McGinn's last week, distinctly average.

In terms of best steamed ham what about chilli shack's beast or the new burgatory? anywhere up for it? capones?

Report in if anyone sees it!
The aurora that is, not the ham :)

No sign of the lights from Mutton Island, and worse, no sign of DK :(

I went up north of Galway looking out over lough corrib. The sky was clear, and I stayed for an hour, but there was no sign. The moon was very bright.

I heard someone on the radio saying the bright moon is a problem and its best to go out just as its getting dark around 9pm

Aurora Alert Ireland advised 10-11.30, which was when I went out.
