    Hi folk's,
Thinking of replacing my wife's 08 jazz with a fabia maybe in the next six months or so. She only does about 5k km per year so car gets little driving. The jazz is perfect so no need to change really but getting little long in the tooth.

Looking at the fabia spec and it looks like you have to go for style spec to get get air conditioning?
    Thanks,
    Mick

Why not look at another Jazz? If it ain't broke they don't try to fix it.

Alternatively there is a brand new Polo just around the corner. Comfortline will probably have air con as standard.

Fabia is a great car. Petrol is super frugal and cheap to run. Residuals are very high.

You may get the AC as an option on ambition spec but the extra 1500 for style (new) will probably be better value given the other stuff you get like parking sensors etc.

New polo looks great and reviews back a this up but costs more. Sure it's only money!

Gotta say that the Fabia is old hat now. The new Ibiza is based on the forthcoming Polo and is in another league to the Fabia. Much more spacious, better build and specs.

A slight exaggeration! By all accounts the new ibizia has edged in front. Slightly more spacious and some features that do give it a well earned edge on the current Fabia. But it's an edge not a chasm. Seat is doing a great job of it's new range but the tech is part of the tried and tested vw Skoda range.

Let's not forget that the Fabia has been what car car of the year 2 years in a row so it's far from old hat.

Well worth a look though. But both are superb cars in their class.

How anyone could choose a Fabia over the new Ibiza is beyond me. Different strokes and all but even if you aren't bothered about the looks you would have to favour it cause of it being a new model and platform over the older Fabia.

Not quite. The current Leon came out in 2012 with the MQB platform and updated engines before the MK3 Octavia. The new Ibiza is using a generation newer platform than the current Fabia. It's Skoda that is behind in that regard. The Seats were actually released before their VW cousins too. They were all developer at the same time but it's Seat that were the first to market strangely enough. Same with the Ateca which is basically the Karoq.

Drove both in the last couple of weeks and the new Ibiza feels a class above the Fabia. Makes the Fabia feel quite old hat by comparison.

Car cycles for restyles are determined well in advance so seat may well get all the new release stuff now but the new polo and Fabia will have similar from 2018. Engines etc..

The ibizia is a nice car and should be considered. Residuals on a Skoda are higher which would push me in that direction especially for a pcp deal. Specs on both are very similar. Options are very similar on configurator. Overall very similar.

I'm sure you read the same reviews as me.

My concern is that the entire brand from seat to Skoda to vw is very samey.

Without the badge you'd be pushed to know which car your in. They have done such a good job of them all!
