If I post this in the wrong section, move it.
I have a TV that must be about 10 year old. The TV is coming on and all but you can't switch the channels with the remote and I have tried a universal remote on it and that's not even working. The only way you can switch the channels is the button on the tv, with the + and -. Would it be the red sensor on the TV that's causing this problem?

use your cameraphone to see if the remote contropls are actually working and if they are its new telly time.
The phone will show the light from the remote which your eye cant see.

I used my phone yesterday with the IR and that doesn't even work. But what I can't understand it's changing with the button on the TV

Possibly the IR receiver gone down ..... physical buttons working.
