Pre-employment medical

Not sure if this is in the right place but here it goes.

I was offered a job up North and have to do a pre-employment medical as part of the process. I currently work in the same industry here in Australia and the medicals can be pretty involved: push ups, cardio workout, EKGs etc.

Now, I'm pretty overweight. I'm currently in the middle of dropping the kilos but right now I would never pass the Australian equivalent of a medical. Assuming a fail is when you can't do ten push ups if they ask you.

I'm not particularly unhealthy. I'm a vegetarian and I do a fair bit of hiking so I'm probably healthier than I look, at least on the inside. I've just been a bit of a heavy drinker over here and eating too much **** so packed on the kgs which is normal for me, I have pretty wild weight fluctuations.

So here's the question, does anybody have any experience of medicals in Ireland (even though it's technically Northern Ireland)? What can I expect? Am I screwed?

My job isn't particularly physical but as a I said, the industry as a whole takes health and safety fairly seriously.
