Kia carens smoke

Hey there new on this hoping for some help. Bought a 08 Kia carens a few months back and unfortunately was screwed over as the day after I got home it was bellowing blue smoke from the exhaust. Two separate garages removed a good amount of "extra oil" thinking they had solved the problem but it never did. I was told that it may be the dpf filter and that they can be quite expensive to get sorted. Car goes sluggish for maybe a day or so then a lot of blue smoke for a day and then can be normal for a few days or even a week or two then it happens again. Just wondering what some thoughts as to what it may be and if their is a cheaper solution than the €400-600 I've been hearing about to get the dpf done.
    Thanks in advance.

I've an 07 carens and had dpf trouble. Whenever it acted up the engine management light came on. Has that light come on in your car?

I got a can of dpf cleaner in my local factors. It had a long straw on it and it entered the particulate filter in the front pressure sensor port. Squirt the contents in and drive her like you stole her and Bob's you're uncle.

Just out of curiosity, have you checked the air filter?
