Hi folks just looking for advice so I started Rocatune which was advised to me by a dermatologist abroad.

I was told I would need a blood test before starting them but came home to my GP and got the prescription and will have blood test 3weeks after starting.

So I started last week on 3x20mg per day first couple of days okay but since Friday I have had dizzy spells, face red like sun burn and flushing feelings.

Anyone else on this med? I'm not sure it's right for me :-/

My son completed 2 courses of Roacutane and I was one of the first Irish users of it myself over 30 years ago. Because it is a drug that can be hard on the liver, you should have had blood tests before the treatment started (to check functions and establish a baseline) and then get regular blood tests throughout the treatment. The Doc prescribes maximum dosage based on your weight and it seems you are on 60mg per day. Sometimes they can start you on a lower dose and work up to see what you tolerate. I assume you are visiting the Doctor for monthly reviews?

I suggest you contact your Doctor and report the symptoms. Some people are lucky and can sail through the treatment without a bother. A few have common side effects. Males and females can have different reactions. Most Doctors will tell you to from the outset to expect the flushing and the sunburn face at a certain point in the treatment (from my experience it does pass btw) - but I would definitely report it and especially report the dizziness.

Roacutane is a very effective treatment and it has been a salvation for many people but always keep in mind it is a very strong treatment – it’s a serious drug and requires careful monitoring of side effects.
