Merging lanes - right of way

Question about merging an out-of-hours bus lane with a regular lane of traffic.

Who has right of way in this situation? The out-of-hours bus lane along the footpath, or the normal lane? It's hard to tell from Google Maps but what do you guys think?

Also mods if you want to embed, please do, I'm on the touch site so can't do it.

There is a Yield sign at the end of that bus lane... so anything in the bus lane ..must Yield

The yield sign isnt on googlemaps, but, it was there when i passed recently.

There's always a dotted line at the end of a bus lane which signifies a yield. Anyone in the bus lane should be yielding to anyone on the main carriage.

Out of hours its two parallel "normal" lanes. I would interpret that as yield to the vehicle in front.

A physical Yield sign has been installed since the Google car took those pics

Does it matter what type of lane you are in?
If you are merging to another lane you are responsible for merging safely?

I can't work out anything from those pictures, but generally once driver is changing lane, they have to give way to vehicles already on that lane.

Problem is when two lanes suddenly become one...

I'd be more concerned that the OP lost 15% of his battery in 26minutes

Golden rule of the road: If you're crossing a dashed line, yield. Applies to roundabouts as well.

Same as the cycle lane has a yield for the bus lane.

What's beyond the yellow box? Straight and right-turn lane? Is there a need to filter traffic to one lane at all?

Straight and left turn. There is a separate lane for right turns.

There is only one full-time lane, with the second being a bus lane...
