Jeff Hendrick is still ruled out Wes Hoolahan and Aiden McGeady are also doubts.

    Damn.

We're goosed if Hoolahan is out, we can't create goalscoring opportunities from open play without him.
Nobody is claiming he is Messi, however, Ireland look a far better and more balanced team when someone with his creative skills plays.

If Hoolahan is out of the game injured Dunphy is going to double down on his hate for Whelan.

Wes Hoolahan wasn't gonna play anyway so him being a doubt makes no difference. Conor Hourihane should be given a run out behind the striker imo,

    Randolph

    Christie - Duffy - Clarke - Brady

    Myler - Arter

    O'Dowda - Hourihane - McClean

    Walters

Hendrick IMO is a much bigger loss than Hoolahan and I'm fond of Wes.

I cant see Whelan being dropped, he is the de facto captain with Coleman and O'shea not available, although there might be a glimmer that he'll be replaced by Meyler if you look into his sub the other night by O'Neill when we tried to chase the game for the last few minutes.

We could talk for days about his impact or lack there of in Ireland games but its pointless at this time but I would say, I'd much prefer to see Meyler in there instead of him.

Please, Please, Please don't score early.

We need the win but I think the way we've been playing we will struggle to get a draw. Serbia are in great form and will have players involved that weren't there for the reverse fixture at the start of the group.

Hate to say it but I'm thinking 2-1 to Serbia.

MON will have a Keegan-style rant to Tony O'Donoghue after the game. "We're still fighting for the play-offs with Wales and they've still got to go to Georgia. I tell you what Tony, I'd love it if we get that play off spot. LOVE IT."

Dunphy meanwhile will give a eulogy for Irish football at the end, with a few references to Northern Ireland and Michael O'Neill, Galway hurlers, and possibly Conor McGregor.

Would it not be beautiful if we just went out and won 3-0 tomorrow night, just went out with no fear and gave a stunning performance.

    I can dream.

If Luxembourg can draw 0-0 with France than Moldova can draw with us

I'd love If they took points off Wales but can't see it

    Austria vs Georgia means nothing

On a positive note, if Ireland do happen do have one of these Lazarus like epic performances, based on our last 3 games, there will be nobody more surprised than Serbia and their video analysis guy.

he was so bad on Saturday , someone else with a touch of creativity , deserves a chance - Walters could captain the team - Whelan must be dropped , that type of performance must not be tolerated - most LoI midfielders would have played better.

The thing is Whelan is a decent player week in week out for stoke. Gets up and down and supports when he can. It's like he puts on am Irish jersey and forgets how to play

He doesn't play for Stoke and when he did he played the same way he does for Ireland, sitting occupying space in front of the back four doing bollock all.

Well, clearly you haven't been watching him week in week out if you think he's still at Stoke.

Or think he's been playing decent.

Shay Given has been wonderful for Newcastle recently whenever I've seen him. Surely would be a better option than what we have at the moment.

Think we should stick with the Celtic great himself, Packie Bonner.

Had we won at the weekend, I reckon the ground would have been practically full tonight as it was setting us up for a very strong finish, the draw, coupled with a mid week qualifier could keep people away.

I'm going up on the 1.20 train from Cork and back tonight but every time I do it, I always ask myself why. :o

Speaking of watching from abroad, I'm in California at the minute and will have to watch on my phone via the Modbro app. Anyone have any idea how much data streaming a match uses? I've a 1BG daily limit

If you can't drink at your seat, then I don't want to know.

Was at the Welsh match. 10 minutes to queue, 5 minutes to hoof your pint down. F**k that.

The Tavern on the Avenida is small but decent. Usually a free quiz on afterwards if you're into that. Not sure if there's a standout place but there'll be tonnes of bars showing it

Ireland need one big result in this campaign that has been middling to fair, so far. I thought it was the Austria win away, but they've turned out to be the town bike of this group so that result has become somewhat moot.

After Saturday, I'm not expecting, but I always remain hopeful.
