    Some advice please !!
I've a new reseed that I'll be spraying in a few weeks hopefully ( weather depending ).
Grass is doing well, some seedling docks, chickweed etc. Also some young rushes starting to appear. There were rushes before I reseeded. I've put in drains & there made a great improvement. I put out lime also.
What would be the best spray to cover the rushes along with everything else?

    Thanks.

MCPA will do reseeds and rushers however it will kill clover

    How long since sown?

This will dictate how strong the weeks are. This is the important question?

I sprayed reseeds 17 days sown. Was a very dirty field before spray seeding with nettle, thistle, dock and Ragworth. I used Pastor Trio at 1 litre per ha.

MCPA is no good. Used it last few years against dads advice. Only kills the established weeds for that year. Be aswell spray the good stuff.

I used a new spray this year called pastor trio on the reseeds. Did a serious job on them and no checking my of the grass

It's sown three weeks. I'd like to hit the rushes as soonas I can before they get established.

Anything generic with mcpp in it should do

You won't be spraying in a few weeks, you need to get on it immediately. I can't advise on rushes. I know MCPA will kill them but it is a really poor spray for longterm weed control.

Used triathlon here this year. it has mcpp, mcpa and dicamba in it. Worked ok anyway. Talk of some sprays going off the market next year I think

While MCPA is a limited spray on established gtassla d with established weeds. It is excellent on reseeds if clover is not important. It will also kill weeds at a later stage than clover safe sprays. As rushers are an issue MCPA is an excellent option

Think you're not supposed to spray mcpa on grassland less than a year old. Not sure if it's a pollution hazard or weather it checks grass growth.

Talking to a Teagasc advisor he saw no documentation on this. Every weed killerchecks grass growth MCPA is not the worst and is not too farm off clover safe sprays. OP has rushes in the reseed I am not sure other than MCPA what other spray will kill rushes, wait Roundup will do it but it will really check the reseed.
