Heading to the states this week and plan on loading up my credit credit card with my money, was just wondering what sort of charges are there for withdrawing cash from ATMs over there with my BOI credit card ?

    Hi threein99,

Welcome to Boards, and thanks for your post.

When withdrawing cash at the ATM abroad in another currency, a cash withdrawal fee of €2.54 or 1.5%, whichever is greater is applied.

If your Credit card account is in credit when the transaction hits the account, and has no balance owed after the transactions is completed, there is no charge for ATM withdrawals.

The limit abroad, to withdraw cash at the ATM, is €700.00 using Chip and PIN, and €300.00 using a non Chip and PIN machine.

Please see here for more information on using your Credit card abroad.

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Thanks again,
    Jane.

So if my card is in credit I won't get any fees applied ?

    Hi threein99,

    Thanks for the reply.

If your credit card account is in credit and has a zero balance after the transaction has completed, you won't be charged this fee.

Please let us know if we can help with anything else

    Thanks again,
