Respiratory illness thread

Hi there everyone, I haven't posted here before so I hope it's ok that I'm starting a thread. I had a look through the first few pages but I couldn't see any lung related threads. I thought this might be a good place for people with lung problems to chat and get support and advice. I have Cystic Fibrosis and I have been seeing a decline in my health the last few months, I know that my illness is progressive but it is progressing faster than I expected at the moment and I am struggling to adjust and hoping it can be reversed and isn't a sign that I am on a slippery slope. I have been having a lot of trouble with acid reflux,I've had it for years but the last few months I have been vomiting most days and bringing up bile and foam a lot too. This has made my lungs very wheezy which is driving me crazy, I am using my ventolin all the time with little relief, I am starting spiriva too and I hope that will help, I also take symbicort. I am waiting on an endoscopy and a barium swallow (had the barium swallow a few years ago but they want an updated one) to make sure it is severe reflux and not an infection or gastritis. I am on the maximum dose of reflux meds so if it is reflux then it is looking like I will need to have an operation, a nissen fundoplication. I'm not looking forward to that, I have heard that you can only eat soft foods for months afterwards. I am on a course of IV antibiotics at the moment to help my lungs as I am struggling with breathlessness like I have never had before and my lung function has dropped from my usual 56% to 47%. I am struggling with the drop and hoping the IVs will bring it back up. I am just worried that I won't recover from this one. Has anyone else had similar experiences or does anyone also have respiratory illnesses that cause them bother? Sorry for the long post!
