Legal Discussion and the legal advice rule

I want to bring up the completely erratic enforcement of the "No legal advice" rule in Legal Discussion. It's enforcement seems to be down to who is moderating and who is posting as opposed to the content of the post.

To highlight my point, this thread contains multiple cases of posters giving legal advice, even going so far as telling the op to contest a criminal complaint. A mod has posted in the middle of these pieces of advice so it's not like it went unnoticed. Yet when we get to this thread, a mod posts a warning after three posts.

There doesn't seem to be any consistency in the application of the rule.

Have you attempted to engage with the mods and discuss it with them?
