    Hi.

Anyone on here know if there is a long term rental pay option for a car or jeep.Need a car but still have bad credit from the downturn.I have a good job and good salary but cant get finance.
The usual hertz and so on would work out at 800pm.i can easilly pay 300 to 400 pm.
The car is needed for the job so payments would be a be a priority. ( manager in a prominent hospital)
Also don't mention mordaunt pay as you go they are crooks...****ty situation.

    Thanks anyone.

Have you tried any of the manufactures 'banks'. I have used Renault and there seemed to be very little checking involved. I didn't even submit payslips or proof of employment. Approval was instant so I doubt they checked with ICB.

Worth a shot anyway. Go in and don't mention if you're not asked about your history. If you are asked, be truthful.

They would be total idiots not to do some background checks into someone's credit rating to be honest.

OP, is buying a cheap car where you don't need to borrow, an option for at least the short to medium term? Have a look at the bangernomics thread.

Vw bank are very accomodating. If you have 3 month's pay slips and even a letter from your employer well worded can help.

if the bad credit was more than 3 years ago and everything is good since, you might be ok. if i remember correctly ICB only reports the last 36 months. but any bad stuff would need to be back on track or cleared. have you tried credit union?

As TheShow above said the Credit Union is well worth trying if you have savings there. You can normally borrow three times what you have in savings but best not to stretch it that far if you do not have too.

    Peace and long life.
