Anyone else had any problems unsubscribing from Irish News Archives? I signed up for one month and I am 100% I choose not to auto renew.

Anyway, I've just been charged $30 for another month. I've emailed and the email bounced back and I've called but there is no answer. Getting a bit worried now. There's no option to end my subscription.
    Gerry.

There's been a disturbing trend lately of subscription services making it incredibly difficult to cancel a service. I had this spat with the Economist. They make it very convenient to sign up and access content but suddenly when you need to cancel you have to jump through a million hoops.

I adore the service in my case and I'm only cancelling it because I'm moving billing region and it's easier to cancel and subscribe in the new region (Asia-Pac to Europe). My billing date was around 10 days away when I started trying to cancel and there was a constant back and forward "Are you sure you want to cancel?" and "Would you like to transfer your policy?" each taking two or three days to receive a response. I think they were doing it deliberately to drag me out to the next billing date and lock me in for another quarter.

My advice? Ring them, demand they cancel your plan and issue a refund or you will request a reverse charge with your bank.

I had this problem some years ago with MyHeritage. I am shut of them now thankfully.
