Starting Wednesday, really looking forward to this. Women's Flyweight should be stacked when it's up and running with the best of bantamweight and strawweight.

Alvarez vs Gaethje should be a cracker at the end as well.

Hopefully this season is decent, it's been stale for a while now.

I think Justin will murder Eddie though.

The season and fights from the last few seasons haven't been that bad, Its just the whole format that is stale. That being said I'll probably watch to see the new division.

If Gaethje wins in impressive fashion he'll be in the top 5 in the division already.

The Flyweight season was VERY good. Great fights!

Would have preferred Kevin Lee to Eddie, I think he'd have made for far better TV. None the less it should be a good season fight wise.

Agreed, but the series was ruined due to a spoiler of the winner that was hard to avoid knocking about online ahead of the second week. :(

When does this show here? I searched the sky planner last night and couldn't see it.

Yes. Started to second guess myself as to whether it had actually aired

Can anyone PM a link if they have one please? Really struggling to find one.

It is also repeated tonight at 9:30 on BT Sport 1. Forgot to record it on Wednesday night cause there is so little buzz about it...

Watched it on BT Sport just there. Good episode.

No surprise to see Roxanne do a job on the 16th seed. I see Barb Honchak has come back from the dead too, where has she been for the last three or four years? You'd have to expect Roxanne, Barb and Lauren Murphy to be at the business end of the tournament so no surprise to see them as the top 3 seeds.

I loved Eddie basically refusing to do any training on the ground and saying it was a waste of time as if it goes to the ground agaisnt Roxanne his fighter is goosed. :pac:

Some serious eye candy too

The last all-female season of TUF was the worst I've seen in terms of bullying and general bitchiness (Herrig and Mangana the chief suspects) so I'll give it 3 or 4 weeks before it all starts with this season.

Good first ep, beaming for Roxie. Yeah that was ****ing gas 'she's a jiu jitsu expert, no point even going over ground stuff' and then trying to tell her how to escape during the fight. Poor Eddie has taken 1 too many shots to the head.

No chemistry between Eddie & Justin, yet anyway. I wonder how soon filming was after Justin's fight with Johnson?

Literally the week after I believe.

Fight was July 7th, MMA Junkie had a piece about the upcoming (at the time) TUF 26 on July 18th and within that said filming had already began.

Last night's episode wasn't shown. There was a repeat of Episode 1 instead with a message saying the 2nd episode is on tonight at 11 on BT3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,965 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

That's so weird, new ep was definitely on in America last night cuz I nearly got spoiled on twitter this morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,965 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Forgot about ep2 and watched 2 & 3 last night, both shyte. The fights are awful, yes there are finishes but it's because of lack of skill. The striking and grappling defense is awful. Joanna wouldn't even have to put on weight to 125 and she'd still bate all these girls. Hopefully, someone stands out in the next few episodes, very amateurish in 2 & 3.

I was fully sure that girl had a cracked rib the way she was going on.

In fairness, tearing an intercoastal muscle is probably as painful

    Gway, only a bruise :)

I was delighted Nicco won. She seems pretty cool and I didn't like the way Lauren Murphy was thinking about who she would fight later in the competition. She came across as a bit of a dick.

    Good read from Lauren here:

Montano was impressive there, great mix of striking, clinch and takedown defense, made it look easy.

Joe Daddy's wife fighting next week, let's go Joe Daddy's wife!!

Lauren Murphy is such a pain in the arse. What a whinge bag :pac:

Justin - you cannot win with just jiu-jitsu

Is there no episode this week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,965 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Doesn't look like it. Kinda disappointed Eddie won't be fighting Justin at the TUF finale. I know that's a big fight for the UFC but would have been nice to see it the same night as the TUF fight night.

I wonder if it's anything to do with the baseball playoffs?

I know nothing about baseball but is it scheduled to be on the same night as TUF finale so they know they won't be getting viewers?

It literally wouldn't be possible for Lauren Murphy to come across any worse during this. :pac:

wooooooooweeeeee......Sijara vs Roxanne ought to be a good one.

Incredible to see how far Rox has come from hr first stint on the show. I love a good comeback story, and is why I think I love MMA so much, it's got a fair share of these :)

Just caught up on the last 2 episodes yesterday. Wow Lauren... Just wow...

Sijara is a beast, I don't think she will let Rox just sit in mount throwing elbows. Some good fighters in the finals. Eddie laughing at Lauren had me in stitches.

Aaaaannnddd she somehow managed to out-do herself this week! :pac:

 All I can say is Nico is a vicious BEAST. Can't wait for next week!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,965 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

1st fight was bollox, Rachael had the first round, should have gone to a 3rd. Barbs takedowns in the 1st that lead to nothing shouldn't have outscored Rachael's significant strikes.

2nd fight, Montana is a beast the way she held on, she was obviously goosed but kept fighting till the end, hope she gets another shot.

Bonus - no Lauren footage this week.

Next week, Roxy Vs Sejana should be a cracking fight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,451 ✭✭✭Wrongway1985

That Sarje KO was sick, Deanna was my dark horse for it tbh shocked when ya get caught ya get caught but like that...holy f.ck

Not too shabby last few eps no overly played up sh1te between the contestants or forced animosity between coaches helps.

Barb looked terrible in that first round the way she tried the same punch over and over, she couldn't keep Rachel down in it and Rachel landed the bigger shots close but Barb should have been down that round granted she dominated the second and if went to a third would have likely won but Rachel well within her thoughts to feel hard done by there.

Semis are interesting Nico been impressed with wonder can she spring another upset those elbows whew vicious.

I thought the same about Rachel, really thought she deserved a third round.

At the same time she was very tired and I reckon the third would be much like the second. She just seems to have a more explosive build.

This has been a surprisingly good season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,902 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

Was just watching the post fight presser from the weekend. It was mentioned that Roxanne was on this season. Would like to see that dork do well.
I had given the show and this thread the swerve but might catch up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,161 ✭✭✭Amazingfun

I am counting the days til the next ep: well worth catching up before Rox's next fight ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Lauren has definitely been given a fight on the Finale. FFS, I was hoping that would be the last we'd have to see of her.

Her opponent "Pedrita" is also coming down from BW and looks very dangerous (8-0). Just TkO'ed Rosy Duarte.

Lauren might end up complaining yet again.

Called it, UFC looooove the drama. Hope she gets wrecked.

The BEAST continues her journey, gutted there was only one fight tho, can't WAIT for next week's ep.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,190 ✭✭✭cletus

Felt bad for Barb, she's been around so long, and at her age this might have been get best shot at holding the 125 belt in the UFC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    Another really good episode.

I have to say I didn't see that outcome happening but I'm delighted for Nicco. Roxy should have too much for Sarj but then again I'd have said the same about Barb tonight, and Sarj's striking is very dangerous.
