    Hi guys,

I have a concrete head over my new porch entrance (see photo), I'm wondering if I could paint this directly with Sandtex or would it be advisable to apply some sort of primer first? Any tips are welcome.

Can't really make out how smooth the surface is. If its rough (ish), Sandtex will do fine ( water down first coat). If smooth, add some Owatrol E-B to the paint. It will make it stick to anything.

    Hi Dok,

The finish is actually quite rough, so as you said I could apply a watered down first coat as a primer. Thanks for the advice!
