It's Ebor day and while Clever Cookie certainly isn't getting any younger, he ran pretty competitively in his last few starts this season. With a slight swing of the weights in his favour and a cracking track record at York, I think the best price of 25/1 that's available is good value for money. The favourite does not seem to be at all fancied with ground not going in its favour. Magic City ran a cracker in a poorer race than this, but I would raise a question that it can handle the step down in trip. Willie will have Ivan Grozny sweet, but looking at what it's beat in the past, surely the opposition tomorrow will be too strong?

Battersea and Natural Scenery for me.

I would also be very interested to hear anyone's thoughts on the Travers Stakes race at Saratoga tomorrow. Seriously folks, if someone wants a competitive sports event, it's not at York, Las Vegas - it's at Saratoga. All three of the winners of the Triple Crown races take part and none of them are leading in the betting. I had initially thought Cloud Computing, but saw the draw and scratched it. Current market favourite West Coast seems to be fancied just because of who trains if (Bob Baffert trains last years winner, the globe trotting Arrogate). For me, Tapwrit has enough in terms of ability, and the draw to have a very good chance at 6/1.

Windsor 6:10 - I seem to remember tipping the 2015 Epsom Derby Hero Carbon Dating this time last year when it won at Hamilton. It was supposed to be an embarrassment when it ran in the Derby a few years back, yet finished a respectable 8th of 12 runners. Official ratings said when I tipped it, that it was off of just 76 in a lowish handicap, so bang in contention. Unfortunately for it, I think it has found itself well out of contention in tomorrow's listed race (run away, run far away). I can't see this race not being won by Second Step or Across the Stars. I think the hood and being gelded would want to do wonders for Across the Stars to beat the very worthy favourite Second Step that is best priced at 13/8.

I like Top tug in the Ebor. Has looked quirky in the past but King seems to have helped him mature,he's unexposed, York leaves plenty of time for hold up horses to get involved and Harley can ride with balls of steel.

Have also backed Top Tug@13, along now with Nakeeta@13, as advised by one of the Oracles a good while ago.
With a generous 6places now available, also opted for couple of e/w accumulators featuring Seamour and Battersea.

'Small double' of Nakeeta with tonight's showdown via Mayweather Rounds 1-4 (enhanced), equating @91.
But have a suspension it'll wrap up in R6, so special priced 'McG -1point and FM win R6' @50 it is also.

Billesdon Brook in the Prestige at Goodwood. Won a nursery off top weight at the last meeting and worth the step up to Group 3 company.

    That'll do nicely.

Have gone with Battersea too. Baydaar later on in the card is also down to its last winning mark & has been backed

Much thanks to the Oracle (v.2.0) and thus Nakeeta.

Pretty much spot-on with that prediction, thought it was Top Tug, until double-checked the finer details yesterday.
Now on to the event of the week which starts at 05:00hrs local time.

Another dire run by Idaho in the USA, methinks the European horses are going to have a very poor Breeders Cup this year.
