I'm looking for a new combo box. I've been doing a lot of research the last few days and finding it difficult to find something that meets all my needs. I was hoping that someone here can give some recommendations.

I'm upgrading from an OpenBox S11 HD so I'm looking for something small like that. No external power block. Has built in wifi and HDD (no external dongles). DVB-T for Saorview and DVB-S2 for Freesat. Has 7 days epg and recording capabilities. A nice modern, clean interface, preferably skinable. I think what I'm looking for is something enigma 2 based, from what I've read, right? I'm not sure of the differences between OpenPli, OpenATV and OpenATV but I see them mentioned a lot, maybe someone could explain them to me please?

    Budget would be < €250, preferably €150 - €200.

This is for my mother so something that I could set up once and she's find easy to use.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

This box might suit, it has three tuners in total, two sat and one for Saorview, it has all you are looking for plus its supported by openvix too which is a good image for beginners. On checkout use boards or boards.ie, I can't remember which is correct code for promo discount.

Thanks red bellied. I saw that box. It seems like a good match but unfortunately it's a bit bigger than what I'm looking for and has an external power block (not sure of the proper name). The OS Mini would be a better match, but is not being sold on freetv.ie. Is it worth looking elsewhere for this box? Does it have an internal HDD?

You can fit a 2.5 internal drive in the mega box, free TV usually sell the mini as well but there must be a shortage or not bing manufactured any more. Maybe check out world of satellite too, some good deals to be got with sterling being so weak.

The dm820 has 2 sat tuners but no saorview so you would have to add a USB tuner for terrestrial.
