Save yourself the trouble and don't. It looks like Red Dwarf, it sounds like Red Dwarf, but it's devoid of any of the charm and humor that made the show great. Smeggin' awful stuff, couldn't wait for it to be over.

I dont know when you last watched RD but I have to disagree. Some nice gags right from the start
including Kryten interruping Rimmer conducting a typically bureaucraticinvestigation with "Sorry to interrupt your Rimmering, Sir.". A new verb is born.

Overall an amusing continuation from the last series, It's not quite up to the level of the classic series 2 to 6 , but I didnt expect it to be. Still well worth a watch.

Wow I didn't expect to see that cast member ever again!

And with the throwback reference as well, which the audience gradually caught on to
    No one is dead

    Thought it was brilliantly done

I stand by what I said (being a 20+ year fan of the show)....but that said, Season XII improves dramatically as it goes on. The first ep is a total lemon, but after that, I enjoyed it a lot more. By the finale, I just wanted more! :)

I thought most of it was hilarious & good to see someone back &
enjoyed the last ep, better than the ep of last series.

    "Power to the Milfie" :D

    Ep5 : M-Corp was excellent.

In general I thought the first 5/6 minutes of each episode was very good, the bit where lads just do a bit of back and forth banter. After that the actual plot would took over and it was quite hit and miss, a few very good, a few bad.

RedDwarf: The First Three Million Years begins 6th August on Dave.
THE definitive celebration of the most successful sci-fi sitcom of all time. Over three hour-long episodes we go on an epic journey through space and time to chart the history of Lister the lonely space-bum, Rimmer the failed hero, Kryten the spaceship-cleaning mechanoid and Cat, the vainest non-human ever to be trapped in space, through the eyes of co-creator, writer and director Doug Naylor, the cast, the crew, and celebrity fans.
    ......

Throughout the series we'll also be showing previously un-broadcast scenes and the best of the many and varied 'smeg-ups' of the last 32 years while leaving no kipper unsmoked in our quest to feature some of the greatest moments and funniest gags from the entire back catalogue of 74 incredible episodes.

As someone who only cottoned on to RD with the third series plenty of new stuff for me.
