I have an aritech panel that my wife tells me has just been going off with no display on panel to turn off.

I inhibited all the zones and it hasn't been on for years as it was always temperamental.

It's show a battery vt fault. How can I fix this so it doesn't randomly go off tonight and scare the kids ****less.

    Thanks

Your best thing is to power down the system completely .

Open the main control panel & disconnect the mains fuse & the back up battery.
The external bell will sound for approximately 20 minutes & then be totally powered down.
Do not try this if the external bell is the old style metal ones. They will ring forever.

Thanks. I saw you say something similar before. But excuse my ignorance is that the bigger box? It's upstairs in my house but I could find the damn way to open it.
At this stage I'll wait till tomorrow evening and hope it doesn't happen again.

    Yes its the larger box.
If its a rectangle shaped box there should be 2 phillips head screws centre left & centre right to open it.
If its a taller metal box there will be a screw centre top.
